Meet ShoSho, Fruitful's founder.
ShoSho is a long-time resident of Kibera, living at the site where Fruitful now stands. She has strong relationships within the community, especially with the local government officials (assistant chiefs) who refer children and ensure security for Fruitful.
ShoSho first began caring for needy children from the community more than 15 years ago. In 2007, she decided to start Fruitful (with the help of Beatrice, who had been one of the first children she had raised), and took in many children orphaned or abandoned during the post-election violence which devastated Kenya after the 2007/08 elections.
Though her children have moved away, ShoSho is a grandmother to a large family at Fruitful!
